For performance, choreography, musical composition and arrangement, Max Pollak has received individual NYFA, NYSCA, Mid-Atlantic Arts, Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance grants, a US Artists Fellowship nomination, Hoofer and Flo-Bert Awards, and a Bessie Award nomination. He is pictured on the USPS Forever Stamp honoring Tap Dance.

He simultaneously creates dance with his body, music with his hands and feet, and song with his voice, recently receiving rave reviews for his ground-breaking new interpretation of the comedic solo "Frosch", in "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss, at Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, and at Dutch National Opera Amsterdam.

Pollak is recognised worldwide for his outstanding musicianship and versatility, tearing down barriers between genres, and collaborating with top artists in jazz, classical, Latin, and contemporary chamber music. As an award-winning performer, choreographer, educator, composer, and cultural consultant, Pollak is also co-creator of the off-Broadway hit show Carmen - To Havana and Back. His CD RumbaTap was released in 2015.
